Nuthin Much Here

My best Melanie "Mel-B a.k.a Scary Spice" Brown Impression

Hey guys!

What's going on? I am just here on the couch watching football. I don't get to watch my TV because I am not here much but today I sat down and what do you know??? It is football season already.

This week has just zipped by so quick. I spend this weekend and the top of this week in Long Island , yesterday auditioning, today working from home and tomorrow I will be back at "Damages".

I really love working on the set of "Damages". The environment there is just really positive and makes a very LONG day bearable.

Yesterday was meant to be an audition day and turned into an audition and 2 shoots???? My first appointment was in the Meatpacking district so I took the long ride into the city and jumped off another offensive drive for work...HA ; ) With one meeting down, I jumped back on the train to go to midtown. I stopped by my P.O. Box and picked up 2 VERY needed paychecks that I had been waiting on for 2 weeks. That is one thing about acting, the waiting game. Waiting at auditions, waiting for call backs, waiting on set, waiting for checks.

I headed to the Pepsi Clothing showroom to audition for a couple of projects that they had going on surrounding their new clothing line. While trying on some of their sample clothes all of a sudden the MTV cameras descended upon us. Come to find out that the MTV cameras were following the head designer because they were doing a reality show on him documenting his launch of the new line. Sooooo if you happen to be watching MTV and The Hills, look out for lil' ol' me. I might look a complete fool but eh, it is what it is.

Next I feverishly fast walked from the showroom on 42nd to 37th street where there was a casting for a hair magazine. When I arrived at the casting they just happened to be having a shoot simultaneously in the back and the photographer literally pulled me from the waiting area and took me straight to the back where I immediately went into hair, make-up, wardrobe and then BOOM, I was in front of the camera posing. It was crazy because by the time I looked at the time it was 8PM and I had been in the city ALL day. By the time I made my way back to Penn Station to go home I was exhausted, cranky, and ready to sleep. I generally come home, do more work and then sleep. Last night, I came back to BX, got fruit from the deli, rice from the Spanish food spot, came home and fell OUT.

When I woke up this morning all refreshed and energized (minus the headache..ahhh cold weather) I realized..I am going to be in Hype Hair Magazine!!!! The shoot I did last night was for Hype Hair Magazine and even though yesterday was LONG I will be on MTV and in Hype Hair Magazine as a result. In addition today the people who shot me for Hype Hair called me and invited me to come back for a shoot on Monday for Braids & Beauty Magazine : )

Next week should be nice. Braids & Beauty on Monday, a TV Pilot on Tuesday, As The World Turns on Wednesday and Mommy on Thursday :) and a special b-day on friday!

I also got booked to work on the Bacardi float at the West Indian Day Parade on Monday September 3rd, Labor Day. So if you will be on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, NYC make sure to look out for me on the massive float.

Lastly.......I will be in the tent at Fashion Week here in NYC on The Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave.) & 42nd Street, Bryant Park. Each year, twice a year NYC plays host to some of the worlds top designers and PARTIES. Well, I will be inside the main tent working in the booth for Havianas. It should be fun and the people watching should be AMAZING. So if you are in NYC during fashion week drop by the main tent which is open to the public.

Well that is all for now. I know this entry wasn't that exciting. I originally felt like I didn't have anything to write but of course when I get to writin' stuff starts to flow. I of course will be back for FULL recaps + pictures of all the interesting events so make sure to check back for that.

Kisses,
Nique
