Hello Friends

Hi everyone!!!

How are you guys doing? To be honest I am so tired but after I get this work done I will rest (lies, lies, lies, lol). Things have been fairly busy around here. Nothing super spectacular but a little bit of traveling + work + obstacles here and there. Life is lovely though so I CANNOT complain. GOD is AMAZING to me and that is all I have to say!!

As you know Fashion Week wrapped up and I was so worn out from being there everyday. My last night there I got called at about 9PM to do some background work on the new ABC show Cashmere Mafia with Lucy Liu that debuts in the fall. So even though I was tired I of course accepted the work for the next day. It is very rare that I turn down work unless my pockets are already super fluffy : )

Debut Nov.27 & Dec.4th @ 9PM on ABC. (Episodes 101 & 102)

Working on Cashmere Mafia has been a great experience I really like working with the actors, the crew and watching professionals do their thing. While I continue to learn and grow in my career at this stage it is great to see working actors work. The different acting techniques and styles, directors, shooting styles and sets are great to learn from. Since I have began freelancing full time, 4 months, most of the sets I have worked on have been very different as far as shooting and acting style.

Speaking of being new to acting below is an article that was in Backstage Magazine East and Backstage.com talking about actors who quit their daytime jobs like me : )

I also have to give thanks to the crew at HBCUConnect.com who graciously featured the behind the scenes pictures from my Braids & Beauty Photo Shoot on the homepage of their site. That was so nice and I am very grateful. Thanks guys!!

Lastly, this weekend I will be returning to my Alma Mater, Mount Holyoke College. Mt.Holyoke is a private all-women's college in Massachusetts and as a wild child from the west coast in 2000 it was where I went and began the career that I am currently in the midst of. I will be speaking on two panels this weekend at The New England Women's Global Leadership Conference.

TTYL!

P.S. My new site is almost done and it has exclusive pix from Fashion Week and other events!!!

Good Morning!

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all well. I am doing very well, blessed as always. This week has been very nice, fun and busy. I have been working all week which is a blessing and will continue to be at Fashion Week everyday until it closes next week. I have done some very fun things this week which to ya'l might sound a little repetitive but I never take these things for granted.

On Monday, Labor Day, I was aboard the Bacardi float at the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn, NYC. This was my first year attending the parade because it is usually so crazy there that I have never been brave enough to come out. Well this year I had a great view (along with a paycheck) to motivate me. I didn't find the parade to be as crazy as I though it would be but after we left there was a SHOOTING : ( Aside from seeing Mayor Bloomberg, all the dancers and costumes, the part I liked the most was the FOOD! I have to admit that after the parade I was completed wiped out because I had been dancing for about 4 hours STRAIGHT. The dancing was great exercise but boy my legs were HURT. But being the PIG that I am that didn't prevent me from stopping by Junior's Restaurant on my way out of BK...gotta get my cheesecake : )

With a one-day rest on Tuesday, Wednesday began Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. I was hired by shoe brand Havaianas to work their booth INSIDE the main tent in Bryant Park. It has been an amazing experience. I have enjoyed meeting the fashionistas, fans, models and other industry folk. It has been inspirational seeing all of the amazing clothes, hanging out in the Mercedes-Benz and Moet Lounges. I have been pretty busy at the booth but I have seen Mary J. Blige (yesterday), Carrie Underwood, Carmen Electra, Jay Manuel, ANNA WINTOUR and Padma Lakshmi of Top Chef. The week is still young so I will report back next week with new developments.

Kisses!
